Royal jelly - a potential for healthy lifestyle

Abstract

Royal jelly has been used in different forms in ancient traditions around the world and its popularity is growing due to the presence of important bioactive compounds in it. Royal jelly has antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, immunomodulatory properties which are used to treat diabetes, neurogenerative diseases, fertility problems, enhance wound healing and longevity. It is also being used in pharmacological and cosmetic industries. The review will highlight the composition, properties, benefits and effect of royal jelly on diabetes, Alzheimer, Parkinson, fertility, longevity, wound healing, skin along with its side effects and dosage.
