The trial clearly revealed the variability in the performance of the recently released varieties and hybrids towards rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae. The seed of sorghum hybrid CSH 38 showed greater degree of resistance to rice weevil and was significantly different from other genotypes. Two genotypes viz., CSV-27 and CSH-33 also showed fairly good resistance to rice weevil.
