Field and laboratory evaluation of Jatropha curcas oil on Agrotis ipsilon larvae was carried out in the Soil Arthropod Pests Laboratory as well as on farmer’s field. Experimental findings showed that all the four different concentrations (2.5, 5, 10 & 20%) of J. curcas oil were effective and registered 100 per cent mortality of the larvae after 72 hours of application under laboratory conditions. In case of field study, the lowest tuber infestation of potato (9.88 and 11.06 per cent of based on both number and weight basis respectively) and the highest yield (117.38 q/ha) were recorded in 10 per cent concentration of formulated J. curcas oil treated plots.
