Abstract

Present study was carried out to evaluate the ovicidal property of various botanical extracts against eggs of two spotted spider mite on brinjal. Treatments includes the Andrographis leaf extract, Mentha leaf extract, Cleome leaf extract, Vitex leaf extract, Eucalyptus leaf extract and Ocimum leaf extract and an untreated check was also maintained to test for its efficacy. The maximum mite egg hatchability was recorded from Cleome leaf extract 5% (67.35%). Moderate egg hatchablity was recorded on Ocimum leaf extract 5% (60.85%). Eucalyptus leaf extract 5% (55.49%) and Mentha leaf extract 5% (56.35%) shows on par results against eggs of two spotted spider mite. The minimum per cent mite egg hatchability was observed with Andrographis leaf extract 5% (48.45%) during 120 hours after treatment.
