The Soalu, primary food plants of Muga silkworm (Antheraea assamensis Helfer) was severely caused by leaf roller (Pleuroptya scinisalis walker). The soalu leaf roller moth laid off white coloured eggs singly on the lower surface near the midrib. The larvae is yellowish green in colour and has five larval instars. The total larval duration ranged from 14 to15 days during summer and 91 to 95 days during winter season as the larvae passed through a diapausing state extending over a period of 77 to 80 days. Pupa were obtect type, brown with tapering posterior end and the pupal duration varied from 16 to 22 days. The adults were yellowish with marginal black band on both the pairs of wings with 3 - 4 days duration.
