Abstract

Laboratory experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of eight seed protectants (4 insecticides and 4 botanicals) against T. granarium Everts up to 6 months of wheat storage for maintaining the high seed germination and seed vigour index with less insect infestation and seed weight loss. Emamectin benzoate (5% SG) @ 40.0 mg/kg seed and Neem oil @ 10.0 ml/kg seed may be recommended for local (Village) level as effective seed protectants, to maintain all seed parameters according to IMSCS, for protecting the seed from T. granarium.
