Checklist of moths (Lepidoptera) of the cold deserts of Leh and Spiti, India

This study had added new distribution status as well as molecular characterization of moth species of cold deserts. During the present investigation, a total of 170 specimens of 58 moth (Lepidoptera) species were collected from various localities of cold deserts of Leh and Spiti during the period from July, 2014 to March, 2018. This work on identification, taxonomy of the moths of Cold deserts of India have added new biodiversity data and species status so as develop the conservation strategy for the Lepidoptera species and lead to know the exact taxonomic status of the Lepidoptera species of the region.
