Pest Incidence on pole type french bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) under net house

Abstract

The present study revealed that infestation by serpentine leafminer was maximum i.e. 40.8% damage at the harvesting stage of the crop while red spider mite caused 37.08%, damage at pod bearing stage. Leafhoppers damage initiated with 6.56% reaching to peak of 21% whereas tobacco caterpillar damage ranged from 6.93 to 22.80%. Yellow sticky traps were used to know the abundance of sucking insects pests. A maximum of 21.00 ± 0.82 leafminers, 4.34 ± 0.94 leafhoppers, and 3.00 ± 0.68 of red spider mites were trapped during the pod development stage.
