Field evaluation of certain insecticides against pink stem borer Sesamia inferens (walker) on sweet corn

Abstract

The results revealed that among all the insecticides tested, chlorantraniliprole 0.4 G @ 10 kg ha−1 was found highly effective against pink stem borer, recording lowest deadhearts (1.94%) with 86.03% reduction in deadhearts followed by emamectin benzoate 5 SG @ 0.4 g l−1 and carbofuran 3 G @ 8 kg ha−1 recording 2.11 and 2.28% dead hearts with 84.80 and 83.58% reduction over control, respectively and were on par with each other.
