Abstract

Members of the family Cerambycidae are commonly called as longhorn beetles and they belong to the Superfamily Chrysomeloidea. Phelipara moringae (Aurivillius, 1925) and Nupserha fricator (Dalman, 1817) (Subfamily Lamiinae) are newly recorded insects from Kerala. Among these, Nupserha fricator (Dalman, 1817) is a new record to South India. Phelipara moringae is collected from Gliricidia sepium which is the new host plant record for the species. Both the species are redescribed with their synonymies, distribution and pest status.
