Range extension of rare skipper butterfly, toothed spotted flat Celaenorrhinus zea Swinhoe (Insecta: Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) to Western Arunachal Pradesh

Abstract

Recently, while conducting survey in the western Arunachal Pradesh under the mandates of the Zoological Survey of India, only one individual of the Hesperiid species, Celaenorrhinus zea Swinhoe was collected from Bhalukpong Beat, Pakke Tiger Reserve, Arunachal Pradesh on 4th October, 2021. This is the second sighting of this species in Arunachal Pradesh and presence of the species at Bhalukpong Beat, Pakke Tiger Reserve appears to be westward extension of the species in Arunachal Pradesh.
