Abstract

The attempt to identify and characterize gut bacteria of Periplaneta americana (Blattodea: Blattidae) using 16SrDNA sequencing revealed the presence of human pathogenic bacteria viz., Pseudomonas moselli (MH091341), Aeromonas hydrophila (MH091342), Acinetobacter modestus (MH091343) and Paenibacillus lautus (MH091344). Their interaction with Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae) resulted inhibition in the order of 86.35% (P. moselli) > 85.04% (A. hydrophila) > 81.88% (A. modestus) > 75.46% (P. lautus).
