Abstract

A multilocational trial was conducted using biological control agents where the efficacy of these agents was evaluated along with chemical control against banana leaf (Basilepta subcostata Jacoby) and fruit scarring beetle. The result revealed that soil application of biological control agent Beauveria bassiana (1 × 107 cfu/ml -200 ml/plant) plus bunch spraying with acephate (0.1125%) just after first hand opening, after that bunch cover with polypropylene bag have given high benefit cost ratio with reduction of pest damage and no chemical pesticide contamination recorded from treated fruits.
