Abstract

Foraging activities of major pollinators of Momordica cymbalaria was recorded during September to November, 2021 in pesticide free experimental field in a village. It was observed that the pollinators start foraging by 09:30 h and it extends upto 17:30 h to the maximum. The peak foraging period of various pollinators falls from 09:30 h to 14:30 h. Number of bees visiting the flowers of Momordica cymbalaria, time spent by the bees in each flower and the number of flowers visited on an average by a bee in five minutes were recorded to support the above findings. All the data depict the foraging activities of bees from 09:30 to 18:00 h in a different ratio. Order of maximum foraging activity in Momordica cymbalaria is 10:00 - 12:00, 08:00 - 10:00 and 12:00 - 14:00 h and the activities of the pollinators starts to cease there on.
