A new species of Cerambycidae of the Genus Similosodus McKeown, 1945 viz., Similosodus ranjini sp. nov. (Subfamily Lamiinae, Tribe Pteroplini) has been described from Kerala. The species is closely related to Similosodus punctiscapus in the nature of whitish bristles on the 4th and 5th antennal segments, two longitudinal vittae on each elytra and whitish hairs on legs but it differs from S. punctiscapus in the structure of elytral crest, elytral apex and nature of pronotum. Differential diagnosis of the new species is provided.
