The mango growers of Muthalamada panchayat in Kerala faced setback in recent years due to the reduced marketability of their produce, owing to malformation of mango panicles and bronzing of mango fruits. A random survey was conducted in twenty mango orchards of Muthalamada panchayat and thrips specimens were subjected to morphological and molecular identification to confirm the presence of invasive species, Thrips parvispinus in muthalamada mangoes.
