Ten plants of pesticidal value, suggested by a group of organic farmers, were subjected to laboratory bioassay to validate their anti insect potency against Spodoptera frugiperda. The 5% aqueous extract of Cleistanthus collinus showed the maximum antifeedancy and repellency i.e., 96.9 and 100% respectively. Application of Melia dubia showed highest percentage of larval deformities (33.33%) followed by Nelumbo nucifera and Barleria longiflora (22.22% each). In addition, Nelumbo nucifera also recorded 44.44% pupal deformity. The highest adult deformity was recorded with Melia dubia and Wrightia tinctoria (33.33% each) extracts.
