Present findings revealed that, biointensive integrated pest management (BIPM) block showed less incidence of borers compared to other treatments, besides desirable yield and quality parameters. Incidence of early shoot, top, stalk, plassey and root borer in BIPM block reduced to 49.36, 51.39, 74.23, 65.17 and 59.30% as compared to untreated control. Yield parameters viz., germination percentage, numbers of tillers, millable canes and cane yield were 39.73%, 117480/ha, 88030/ha and 90.89 tonnes cane yield/ha, respectively. Quality parameters viz., Brix percentage, polarization percentage and purity percentage were 18.28, 15.84 and 87.48%, respectively. In IPM block chemicals bring of pest populations below ETL and reduced the natural enemies population making the BIPM more efficient than schedules.
