Abstract

Among the different botanicals, neem, eucalyptus, citronella and lemongrass oil @ 5 ml/kg of seed were found highly effective as they provided 100.00% protection to the grains by inhibiting oviposition upto 15 days, where as neem oil afforded protection upto 60 days. Likewise insecticidal checks spinetoram 11.7SC @ 8.5 mg/kg of grain and spinosad 45SC @ 4.4 mg/kg of grain culminated to be highly effective as they exhibited 100.00% protection of grains by inhibiting the oviposition upto three months. Grains treated with spinetoram and spinosad displayed cent per cent adult mortality of angoumois grain moth upto 90 days and neem oil upto 60 days followed by lemongrass oil (83.33%), citronella oil (80.00%) and eucalyptus oil (73.33%) upto 60 days.
