Abstract

The main objective of the current study was to investigate the morphogenic activity of Andrographis paniculata extract against the larvae of P. polytes. The mortality analysis and studies on the developmental cycle of Papilio polytes revealed high mortality in larval stages and delay in pupal - adult moult after treatment with Andrographis. More than 50% of such pupae produced abnormal adults with distorted wings. Nevertheless, the adults formed were unable to survive and reproduce.
