Construction of stage specific life-table of bivoltine hybrid race (FC2 × FC1) of mulberry silkworm (Bombyx mori L.)

Abstract

The studies on various aspects of mulberry sericulture were conducted under laboratory condition during 2019. The study on stage specific life table of bivoltine hybrid silkworm Bombyx mori Linnaeus (Order: Lepidoptera, Family: Bombicidae) race FC2 × FC1 in the Sericulture Research, Demonstration and Training Unit, Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. The mortality survival ratio was maximum in early instars larval stages and minimum in pre pupal stages. In case of mortality survival ratio the k-value obtained at the different development stages was of different magnitude. The summation of all k-value for the total generation mortality was maximum in FC2 × FC1 0.167 at room temperature and 0.142 at 30 ± 1 temperature.
