The shoot fly incidence in terms of dead heart formation (3.75%) was observed during first week of August (32nd SMW) and reached to its peak with 28.75% dead hearts in 35th SMW. The shoot fly started laying eggs during (32nd SMW) with 0.93 mean number of eggs per five plants and reached the peak of 2.50 mean number of eggs per five plants during (34th SMW). The shoot fly adults population in fish meal trap increased from 32nd to 35th SMW with 16 to 105 flies per 6 traps respectively. The maximum shoot fly i.e., 105 flies per 6 traps were recorded during the fourth week of August (35th SMW). The correlation studies of shoot fly dead heart formation, mean number of eggs per five plants, number of flies caught in the fish meal trap exhibited a significant negative correlation with minimum temperature.
