Abstract

Among the different colored sticky traps observed, significantly highest numbers of beetles with cumulative mean of (10.73 lady beetles/trap/week) were trapped at yellow colored sticky trap on chilli and it was found at par with the blue colored sticky trap placed along the crop canopy which had a cumulative mean of beetles (8.36 lady beetles/trap/week). The sticky trap with a yellow colour was placed along the crop canopy and attracted the maximum number of flies, with a cumulative mean of 6.97 syrphid flies/trap/ week. This trap was found to be more effective than the others in terms of their vigour.
