This is the first reporting of FAW from Madhya Pradesh in Gwalior region. Population of the pest was monitored after 40 days of germination of maize crop in three areas i.e. Sithouli campus, CRC1 and CRC2 farms of the ITM University to determine the population of the FAW. Larvae and pupae per week per plant were counted up to maturation of crop. The infestation started in the first week of July with 1.30 larvae pupa/plant and 1.60 larvae -pupa/plant in 4th week July. The population of FAW proportionally increased with growth of maize crop and reached highest up to 6.13 larvae -pupae/plant in the month of August and decreased with maturation of crop.
