Abstract

Investigations were carried out to assess the feeding preference and development of Rhyzopertha dominica on seven different millets. Results inferred that more feeding preference was towards sorghum (33.33 adults) followed by barnyard millet (25.67 adults) whereas remaining tested millets had less attraction for the pest. More larvae of R. dominica were developed in sorghum (17.75) followed by barnyard millet (12.50) at 75 days after release (DAR) and similar results were obtained for R. dominica adult development.
