Key mortality factors of semilooper (Achaea janata) infesting castor

Abstract

Achaea janata (Linn) passed through three generations during kharif on castor. The highest mortality of early instar larvae was observed to be 56.73, 71.42 and 76.04% due to Snellenius maculipennis in first, second and third generations during kharif 2022, however, its late instar larvae of semilooper were parasitized to the highest extent of 21.26, 28.97 and 30.41% by Apanteles sp. in respective generations.
