Two field experiments were carried out to assess the field efficacy of botanical extracts against the bean aphid. Regardless of the two locations, the population reduction was witnessed high in the treatment, thiamethoxam 25 WG at 100 g/ha with the minimum aphid population of 33.17 and 31.79 aphids/10 plants (60.26 and 66.36% reduction), and that followed by the botanical treatment, garlic and chilli extract at 5% which recorded the 2nd lowest population of 37.75 and 39.72 aphids/10 plants (54.78 and 57.97% reduction), during kharif 2020 and rabi 2020-21, respectively, compared to untreated check. From this investigation it is evident that garlic and chilli extract at 5% was effective against aphid, followed by bitter apple and devil pepper leaf extract at 10%/ha. The efficacy of azadirachtin 0.15 EC at 1500 ml/ha & 0.03 EC at 2 litre/ha, five leaf extract at 10%/ha & ponneem 45% at 3 litre/ha were moderate.
