Abstract

Field screening of maize (Zea mays L.) inbreds was carried out in two seasons, during Kharif 2021 and Summer 2022. Seventeen maize inbreds were screened against corn leaf aphid out of which MAI 3-7, MAI 264, MAI 224, MAI 712, MAI 204-1 and CML 582 were found to be resistant with aphid density rating less than 2. MAI 212 was moderately resistant (2.1 - 3.0), NAI 137 and LM 13 were moderately susceptible (3.1 - 5.0), CAL 1443, V 490-7 and SKV 50-TALL were susceptible (5.1 - 7.0) whereas, MAI 105, CML 161, MAI 764 and CML 451 were highly susceptible (7.1 - 9.0) to CLA infestation.
