Ten varieties of bottle gourd were screened for resistance against fruit fly, and none of then were found completely free from fruit fly attack. At the peak, fruit fly infestation ranged from 44.10 to 55.15% (number basis) and 30.30 to 45.52% yield losses due to fruit fly (weight basis). The minimum infestation was recorded on variety Arka Bahar whereas, the maximum infestation was recorded on variety Kanchan GHS-3.
