Abstract

Ten okra varieties/ genotypes viz., Arka Anamika, Ankur-41, TOH-9, Surya, NOH-15, Dayavan-2, TOH 13, Local variety-I, Local variety-II and Local variety-III were evaluated against major insect-pests. Among these Arka Anamika recorded maximum population of whitefly (2.33/leaf) but showed minimum incidence of YVMV (13.45%) and was categorized as tolerant. The genotype TOH-13 was found least preferred by Jassids. Fruit infestation was found minimum in Arka Anamika (14.69%) followed by Dayavan-2 (16.54%). Significantly maximum yield of 27.22 kg/plot was recorded in Arka Anamika showed moderately resistant to fruit borer and tolerant to YVMV, followed by 24.99 kg/plot in TOH-13 with same resistance level remained at par. Despite showing moderately susceptible to fruit borer and tolerant to YVMV Local varieties did not produce enough yield like other genotypes.
