Abstract

This study explores the intersection of sustainable pest management practices in agriculture and their role in reducing the risk of vector-borne diseases. Agricultural activities can inadvertently exacerbate the spread of these diseases through practices like water management, land use changes, and pesticide use. Sustainable pest management approaches, including integrated pest management (IPM), ecological interventions, and technological innovations, offer promising strategies for controlling vectors while minimizing environmental harm. This study examines the principles and implementation of IPM, ecological approaches like habitat management and biological control, and technological innovations such as precision agriculture and remote sensing. Through case studies and success stories, it demonstrates the efficacy of sustainable pest management in reducing the risk of vector-borne diseases.
