Results revealed that Bt cotton cultivars US 71 and SP 7172 showed more resistance to dusky cotton bug as compared to other cotton cultivars. Similarly, RCH773 showed resistance to red cotton bug as compared to other cultivars. Irrespective of the varieties, dusky cotton bug attained its peak during 27th SMW and red cotton bug reached its peak during 38th SMW. Dusky cotton bug was -vely correlated with temp(max) whereas, red cotton bug was +vely correlated with temp(max). Both red cotton bug and dusky cotton bug was +vely related with temp(min) and -vely with RH(morning, evening). However, in some cotton hybrids like MRC 7365, US 71 and non-Bt F 2228, red cotton bug was +vely correlated with RH(evening). Both cotton stainers were -vely correlated with rainfall. However, in some hybrids like US 71 and MRC 7365, red cotton bug was +vely correlated. Both stainers were -vely associated to bright sunshine hours. These discoveries could assist farmers in choosing cotton varieties that demonstrate greater resistance to cotton stainers.
