Observations on the association of mango leafhoppers (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) vis-a-vis bamboo from India

In the present study mango leafhoppers have been reported occurring on bamboo. All the specimens collected from different localities exhibited consistent morphological characteristics and were identified as mango hoppers. The four species of mango hoppers collected and recorded on bamboo were identified as Amritodus atkinsoni (Lethierry), Idioscopus clypealis (Lethierry), I. nagpurensis (Pruthi) and I. nitidulus (Walker). In the present study, species diagnoses, along with illustrations and occurrence details, are provided.
