Twenty rice varieties were screened against Rhyzopertha dominica (F.), under storage conditions. These varieties were assessed based on population buildup, grain damage percent, and adult orientation (free choice test). The Resistant varieties viz., Sneha and CR Dhan 206 recorded the least number of adult emergences i.e. 47.00 and 30.00 at 120 days after storage respectively. Similarly lower grain damage was found in resistant varieties viz., Sneha and CR Dhan 206 registered relatively lower grain damage of 1.33, 2.67, 3.33 and 5.33% and 2.00,4.67, 5.33 and 7.33%. At the same time, the susceptible variety RNR-15048 exhibited damage to the tune of 22.0, 28.0, 33.33, and 37.33 at 30, 60, 90 and 120 DAS, respectively. Under the free choice test, the mean number of adults counted on different varieties ranged between 0.67 to 19.33, the lowest being on Sneha and the maximum in RNR-15048.
