Abstract

Royal jelly (RJ) is a high-value natural product known for its numerous medical and nutritional benefits. It nourishes the queen bee and her young worker larvae and is produced by the mandibular and hypopharyngeal glands of nursing bees. RJ’s many medicinal qualities are a result of a complex blend of bioactive substances, including proteins, peptides, fatty acids, vitamins, and polyphenols. Due to its extensive research on antioxidant, antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties, it is a vital component of many commercial, health food, and medicinal products. Furthermore, RJ can enhance the quality of the semen, sexual behaviour, and physiological responses in male. RJ is also known for its wider range of health advantages, which include its ability to reduce menopause symptoms, encourage the healing of wounds, and guard against a number of illnesses like diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders. Due to its distinct makeup and diverse range of bioactivities, it has garnered considerable attention in both conventional medicine and contemporary clinical research. RJ is the most researched bee product, and research is still being done to see whether or not it may be used for new therapeutic purposes. RJ still has the potential to enhance human health and welfare.
