A field experiment was conducted to evaluate efficacy of novel insecticides against sucking insect - pests on brinjal. The six treatments viz., fipronil 5 SC, spinosad 45 SC, emamectin benzoate 5 SG, flubendiamide 39.35 SC and neem oil 5% and untreated control were evaluated against whitefly, Bemisia tabaci and jassid, Amrasca biguttula biguttula. Among the insecticides, emamectin benzoate 5 SG was foundthe most effective treatment significantly reducing the population of whitefly (3.68 whiteflies/3 leaves) and jassid (1.41 jassids/3 leaves) followed by fipronil 5 SC. The neem oil 5% was found least effective treatment but it was significantly superior over untreated control.
