Abstract

Insects exhibit remarkable adaptations in muscle biochemistry that facilitate efficient flight and locomotion. This chapter explores the structural and biochemical mechanisms underlying these adaptations, highlighting the diversity of muscle types and energy metabolism pathways that enable various modes of movement.
