A total of 28 species comprising 67 individuals from three families Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae, and Pieridae were identified. The Nymphalidae family was the most dominant, with 22 species and 49 individuals recorded. In contrast, Lycaenidae was the least represented, with only two species and three individuals. Among all observed species, Eurema blanda Boisduval, 1836 was the most frequently encountered during the sampling period. The coffee plantation habitat supported the highest number of both species and individuals, with 19 species and 49 individuals documented, surpassing those found in the Bontak Lake and forest habitats. The butterfly community across the three habitats exhibited a moderate diversity index (H′ = 2.98). None of the recorded species were classified as threatened on the IUCN Red List or in the CITES appendices. All identified species had previously been recorded on the island of Sumatra. The findings are expected to contribute to biodiversity conservation efforts in the Bontak Hill ecotourism area.
