The new acaricide, cyenopyrafen 30% SC, was tested against phytophagous apple mites for two cropping seasons in conjunction with recommended acaricide, propargite 57% EC (1 ml/L). Results indicated that cyenopyrafen 30% SC was successful in reducing mite populations for 28 days following treatment at rates of 0.2, 0.25 and 0.3 ml/L. The findings regarding the impact of various treatments on mite infestation showed that cyenopyrafen 30% SC was more effective than the recommended acaricide and was found comparable to the standard propargite 57% EC with respect to safety of the natural enemies of the phytophagous mites.
