During roving survey, four species were collected viz., Chilo infuscatellus Snellen; C. sacchariphagus (Bojer); Polyocha depressellus (Swinhoe) and Scirpophaga excerptalis (Walker). To our knowledge, S. excerptalis was observed for the first time from Northern Karnataka. Further, all the four species have been redescribed with images and provided a key. Besides, we provided the damage symptoms for each species along with larva.
