Abstract

This cohort study outlines the importance and methodology of conducting simultaneous studies on Dengue suspected patients and from Aedes mosquitoes collected from their households to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of Dengue fever. For virus detection in mosquitoes IFAT technique was used and we have employed MAC-ELISA technique for detecting dengue virus positivity in serum samples of patients. Out of 14 patient households, 9 demonstrated active dengue cases as indicated by the Optical Density (OD) values from their ELISA results. Indirect Fluorescence Antibody (IFA) test results of mosquitoes collected from the homes of dengue patients revealed the presence of dengue antigen in mosquitoes from 3 out of 4 selected households where human dengue cases were reported. The integration of clinical and entomological data provides a holistic perspective that can enhance disease surveillance, prevention, and control strategies.
