Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2022-23 and 2023-24 to evaluate the novel insecticide tetraniliprole 200 G/L SC (Vayego) for management of pink stemborer Sesamia inferens (Walker) on maize. The pooled results of two consequent years revealed that among all the doses of the tested insecticide tetraniliprole 200 G/L SC (Vayego) 250 ml/ha (T4) was found to be highly effective against pink stemborer, S. inferens and recorded lowest mean dead hearts (2.73% and 3.35%) with percent reduction of 80.33 and76.57, respectively followed by tetraniliprole 200 G/L SC (Vayego) 200 ml/ha (T3) recorded (4.14% and 4.86%) dead hearts with a reduction of (70.17 and 66.01%) as compared to check dimethoate 30% E C @ 660 ml/ha recorded (6.19 and 6.56%) dead hearts with a reduction of (55.40 and 54.13), respectively at 35 and 50 DAS. The insecticide tetraniliprole 200 G/L SC (Vayego) at both the concentrations have not shown any detrimental effects on natural enemies and also phytotoxic symptoms and, recorded highest grain yield of 6425 and 6306 kg/ha, respectively in maize ecosystem.
