Abstract

Study on heterosis in 28 different hybrids of greengram derived from 8 x 8 diallel excluding reciprocals indicated pronounced hybrid vigour for yield and most of the yield components. Heterosis to the extent of 79.91 and 53.30% over the mid parent and better parent, respectively, was recorded for grain yield per plant. Seven hybrid combinations were identified as promising for most of the desirable traits.
