Twenty one landraces of greengram from Odisha were evaluated along with four commercial check varieties for twelve characters at EB-II farm, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. Maximum variability was recorded with respect to total days of survival of 10, 30 and 40 days old seedling exposed to 10°C and yield/plant (g). Land races Nayagarh local, Jharsuguda local, Bhawanipatna local-B; Kapurgaon local, Keonjhar local, Kalahandi local-A; Ratila local, Khadabhanga local, Bhawanipatna local-B; Kalahandi local-2B and Bhawanipatna local-B were found to be good donors for cold tolerance at all the stages of seedling exposure to cold. Considering both yield and tolerance to cold at different stages of seedlings growth, the varieties Jharsuguda local, Kamakhya local-B, Ratila local and Khadabhanga local were found promising. Clusters/plant showed positive significant correlation with pods/plant, whereas pods/plant has a strong positive correlation with podlength andseeds/pod. High positive and significant correlations of pods/plant, clusters/plant, pod length and seeds/pod with yield were noticed. Twenty five greengram genotypes were grouped into fourclusters indicating genetic clustering had no parallelism with geographic origin of genotypes. On the basis genetic distance and yield potential, crosses between cluster III (Ratila local) and most of the genotypes in cluster I were expected to produce more transgressive segregants for yield and other economic traits in greengram.
