Abstract

A field study was conducted to study the residual effects of different rice establishment methods and nutrient management practices as well as direct effect of different nutrient management practices on performance of greengram in a rice-greengram cropping system during Rabi 2009–10 and 2010–11. Residual effect of organic nutrition in rice produced the highest pods/plant (18.1), seeds/pod (10.1), seed yield (852 kg/ha), net return (23554/ha) and return per rupee invested (2.56). 50% RDF + BF application to greengram recorded the highest seed yield (930 kg/ha) which was 10.7 and 64.9% higher than RDF and no fertilizer application, respectively. This treatment also recorded the highest gross return (41956/ha), net return (26980/ha) and return/rupee invested (2.80).
