An experiment was conducted at SD Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar during Kharif, 2010–2012 in randomized block design with three replications and nine treatments (as seed treatments) to see their effects on sucking insect pest of clusterbean (cv. GG 1). The seeds were treated by each insecticide with its respective dose one day before sowing. The pooled data of all the consecutive three years experimentation revealed that seed treatment of thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 5 g/kg seeds was found effective to reduce the whitefly and leafhopper populations and to increase the yield significantly. The economics of various seed treatments revealed that the higher net gain was obtained in the treatment of thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 5 g/kg seeds (Rs. 37605/ha) and was followed by imidacloprid 70 WS @ 5 g/kg seeds (Rs. 33995/ha).
