Productivity and profitability analysis of blackgram (Cv. PU-31) at farmers ’field in humid south eastern plain of Rajasthan

Abstract

The study was conducted in Bundi district of Rajasthan to evaluate the production performance of variety Pant Urd 31(PU-31) of blackgram through frontline demonstrations at the farmers ’field. In all, 219 frontline demonstrations were carried out during four consecutive years from 2011 to 2014. The results indicated that the yield performance of blackgram variety Pant Urd 31(PU-31) was found to be substantially higher (32.80 to 80.62%) than that of local check during the study period (2011 to 2014). Further, majority of the respondent farmers ’expressed their high (51.60%) tothe medium (30.59%) level of satisfaction about performance of the improved variety under real farm situations.
