Abstract

Pulse provides an essential nutrient to human being. India has potential of producting different types of pulses. Lentil is an important crop in Cooch Behar District under Eastern Himalayan region of India, where famers of cultivates pulses as a paira crop. Different types of problem like identified before CFLD (Clustered Frontline Demonstration) programme in Cooch Behar District. After CFLD programme in Cooch Behar District dynamic change was observed among the selected farmers well as on district overall crop production. The study was done to identify the impact of CFLD programme on pulses in Cooch Behar district from 2015–16 to 2017–18. Secondary information were collected from District agricultural department. The study revealed that CFLD programme in Cooch Behar District improve the socio-economic condition of farmers as well as it generated additional employment through pulse processing industry.
