Impact of cluster frontline demonstrations on yield of greengram in Bhiwani district of Haryana

Cluster frontline demonstrations (CFLDs) on greengram during the year 2019 and 2020 in 9 and 10 villages, respectively, was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bhiwani. The study reveals that the variety MH-421 recorded average grain yield of 10.74q/ha which was observed as 30.02% higher over the farmers’ practice viz. 8.26q/ha. Further, it was observed that, during 2019 and 2020, average grain yield in demonstration recorded was 11.90q and 10.47q/ha, respectively, while in farmers’ practice it was recorded as 8.50q and 8.02q/ha, respectively. There was 50% gap in adoption of improved variety MH-421, 100% in seed treatment, 85% in fertilizer application and 50% in proper and timely weed management.
