The legumes have been used as an entry point to improve productivity, food security in terms of nutrition and availability and income for the small holder farmers. The paper examined impact of price policy on selected legumes crop in Maharashtra. The findings reveal that, the growth in area of soybean, tur and gram were significantly higher and the production growth in all the selected crops were significantly higher while Productivity growth was significantly higher in gram on the other hand it was low in case of soybean. As the variability in wholesale prices were high in almost all the selected crops which denotes all the crops were volatile in terms of prices. Significantly positive growth rates were observed for Farm harvest Prices (FHP) and Minimum Support Prices (MSP) of all the selected crops, except soybean. The impact of MSP on area, production and productivity is higher under gram crop during the study period.
